JENCARLOS CANELA
Jencarlos Canela is an international actor, singer, songwriter, and philanthropist. He is a true example of dedication, talent, and professionalism. His thousands of concerts worldwide have made him a Latin International superstar.
His awards and recognitions include a Premio lo Nuestro by Univision network, the Cassandra Award for "New Artist of the Year," "Favorite Lead Male Actor" at Premios Tu Mundo, "Best New Latin Artist," and "Song of the Summer" for "I Love It" at Premios Juventud, was recognized by billboard as the first Latin artist to debut Number One on the charts as an independent artist. He launched two number-one best-selling albums, and his most recent singles have gone Gold, Platinum, and Diamond multiple times.
As an actor, his career in Spanish has been nothing short of groundbreaking. Jen has led multiple Telenovelas, shattering records in ratings and distributed worldwide in more than 180 countries.
Most recently he appeared as Agent Santoro opposite Kevin Hart, Woody Harrelson and Kaley Cuoco in Netflix's hit action comedy "The Man from Toronto".
Jen made his acting crossover as the male lead opposite Eva Longoria in the NBC comedy "Telenovela." He teamed up again with Longoria as the iconic character of El Rey in the ABC dramedy "The Grand Hotel.”
One of the most important roles of his acting and musical career thus far was leading the FOX Live Musical "The Passion" as Jesus Christ, hosted by Tyler Perry and featuring performances by Seal, Yolanda Adams, Trisha Yearwood, and Chris Daughtry, among others.
He later joined the new Netflix series "The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia, "a live-action comedy in which Paulina Chavez plays Ashley Garcia, the world's first 15-year-old robotics engineer who moves in with her uncle Vic, played by Jencarlos, to pursue a career as a rocket scientist for NASA. The show was created by Seth Kurland and Mario Lopez.
Jencarlos became the First Latino music artist in history to push the button to activate the Waterford Crystal Ball drop for 2015 in New York City's Times Square.
Helping others, especially children, is a priority for Canela. He became the first and only Hispanic-American public figure to represent the International Rescue Committee (IRC) internationally.
Founder of the non-profit organization "Walking the Talk," this organization was created mainly to address mental health, bring communities together, and guide them toward a better lifestyle.
He currently resides between Los Angeles and Miami.
